Pool & Jacuzzi Control System Retrofit
Water treatment solutions
Do you require water treatment automation specialists for your present or upcoming projects? From field devices to the whole automation technology, we give you with the most appropriate engineering for creating optimal control system architecture (PLC, Networks, SCADA and Historian). Our team will assist you in processing the complete project workflow from start to finish.
Do you need to create your own custom process control libraries for factory-wide systems like process water or UPW?
On a variety of PLC-based platforms, we provide solutions for software analysis and conception in the development of your own project or factory-oriented process function libraries.
Pool water treatment is based on continuous circulation and mechanical filtration of water using cartridge or sand filtration, as well as chemical and UV filtration to prevent microbiological problems (when required). In addition, the water treatment unit usually includes a heating system. A pool water treatment system's primary function is to ensure water quality in all conditions, but aesthetics are also important in terms of keeping the water clear. Rules and regulations (e.g., USPH, Vessel Sanitation Programme) as well as special technical requirements specific to onboard systems play an important role in cruise vessel pool water treatment.
Configuration of the System
A pool water treatment system typically includes circulation pumps, filters, heat exchangers, valves, and sensors, as well as chemical dosing and, if necessary, a UV device (e.g. by USPH rules). Furthermore, separate overflow tanks are usually required to compensate for the water flow from the pools to the treatment system. When designing systems for ships, where available space is always at a premium, it is critical to make all systems as compact as possible while still allowing for good usability/serviceability. The use of variable frequency drives to control the circulation pump is critical for ensuring the required pool water turnover rates in all conditions while also saving energy.
The pool water treatment control system should be simple to use, with clear and informative user interfaces (touch screens). Automatic functions (such as automatic filter flushing) can ensure proper equipment use and efficient operation. Pool water treatment units can be linked to the ship's main automation system which provides centralized alarms and monitoring.

Planning to upgrade your Control System?
By improving the code quality of a system, it is possible to change the program of an entire plant or add new systems almost "on-the-fly." This enables the customer to make improvements to the plant's operation and maintenance. The plant's downtime is drastically reduced thanks to a thoroughly tested solution implemented on a live system.
Modifications can be made without shutting down the plant if the control system allows it. Replace obsolete PLC systems with up-to-date technology quickly and easily without disrupting the process, with the added benefit of not needing to modify plant configuration such as Inputs/Outputs. This is accomplished through the use of robust programming methodologies, which include simulation testing of the entire solution prior to installation, which is a critical component of a successful transition.
When replacing industrial hardware controllers with fully new process redundant PLC software solutions, the PLC Redundancy Concept is used.
Develop a software-based redundancy control system that is less expensive than the manufacturer's native solution while yet meeting the special needs of recreational water. Simplify quality-relevant redundancy architecture and reduce (as much as possible) SPOF for the most critical process sub-systems for treatment plants where plant availability is critical, i.e. redundancy on field components or actuators
